You almost never get to see pictures this close before and after a major event like this. My hat is off to the photographer for being able to snap these pictures even during the earthquake.

A “rogue wave” hits Spanish seaside and washes cars off the road

A rogue wave has been caught on tape as it smashes into the Spanish coast and washes at least 3 cars off the road. Some reports say the wave was as high as 25 feet.

Welcome to the Seismic Blog.com!!

Welcome to my little community here. I’ve always held interest in seismic events (earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunami, etc..). It’s awe inspiring to see the true power of our Earth be unleashed. We humans think we’re so powerful because we can fly to the moon and make atomic bombs. The world can easily destroy the landscape as well as any weapon but with no radiation / fallout and with more pinpoint accuracy.

No, I am not a seismologist. Calling me an amateur seismologist would either be complimenting me or insulting all of the amateur seismologists out there. :) I’ve learned a few things but the science behind it is still fascinating.

I’ve started this site to channel different (RSS) feeds onto my forum at http://www.seismicblog.com/SMT/ plus other forums for people to share their stories and information about seismology.

Again, welcome all and please visit often!
